Larry Flynt to Give Keynote Address at UNC Law School
02/01/2010
Our fearless leader, Larry Flynt is slated to give the keynote address for the University of North Carolina's eighth annual symposium on First Amendment Law Review. This 2010 symposium focuses on "Sexually Explicit Speech and the First Amendment".Larry Flyn'ts address takes place Thursday, Feb. 18 at 8:00pm in the Great Hall of the UNC Student Union. It will be moderated by Clay Calvert, professor and Brechner Eminent Scholar at the University of Florida, and Robert Richards, John and Ann Curley professor of First Amendment studies at Penn State University.
“When you talk about the First Amendment, and you talk about controversy, one person comes to mind, and it’s Larry Flynt,” said Symposium editor David Wicclair, a third-year law student from Pittsburgh. "We really thought there hadn’t been a symposium on pornography or sexually explicit content, and we figured that’s a fairly pertinent issue in First Amendment law that would really spur some debate.”
