It came out in September, but you can still buy it. It's really important to see it now because the sequel's coming out. If you don'st see the first one you'll have no idea what's going on in the second one.

[The sequel's] coming out in April. I just finished editing it. It's a crazy movie. It's really political.

When you say it's really political, what do you mean?

One of the main characters is Mr. Marcus and he plays the president. We're not really sure what he's the president of in the movie, whether it's the United States or and FX company, but he's definitely president of something. He's the first black president.

What happens is this girl, [played by] Charlotte Stokely, kidnaps the president's daughter--who's not black for some reason--and she says she's not going to give her back unless everything "alt" is made illegal.

Then, Joanna's Angels have to save the first daughter, who's trapped in a room and being forced to listen to pop music with subliminal messages in it. So Joanna's Angels have to save her before all this stuff gets to her head and she starts liking mainstream culture.

The Angels are too horny and lazy to do their jobs, so they hire Tommy Pistol to do it for them because he'll listen to everything that they say. He doesn't really do a good job, so they wind up having to do it themselves.

It'ss crazy. The president's too busy getting blow jobs to do anything. The whole world's a mess.

There's a lot of alternative porn going on right now, but there's nothing interracial that I've seen. So there's lot's of interracialness (Editor's Note: We're unsure of this is really a word, but we'll make an exception for Joanna) in my movie.

So do you do interracial?

I did Mr. Marcus. He's the only black dude I've done.

Have you had an issue with people you grew up with when they find out you're in the adult industry?

At first people had problem, but not anymore. Once the cool kids in bands said, "I think what she's doing is cool" all the others turned around. Everyone I ever respected didn't have an issue with it and all the stupid, annoying hardcore kids had a problem.

For as much shit as I got, I also got a lot of support.

Do you actually think alt porn is a movement, or is it just people who like watching porn with tattooed girls?

Well, I mean, I think it's a movement. I think I've started something. I didn't know anything about the internet. I didn't know anything about porn. I didn't know anything about film. It was just me and my friends experimenting and doing what we wanted and seeing what happened. I think that's what punk rock is all about. It's not about doing something because it's going to sell. We didn't make a punk porn site to cash in on some untapped market.

This is a true capture of me and my friends and my life. And it turned from me and a few friends doing it, to me and hundreds of people in this together.

I don't know if it's changing the world or chaning all of porn, but it's definitely changed a lot of the world around me. I mean, it's changed my life. To me personally, that's a movement.

It's nice if someone goes into the store and buys one of my movies instead of Fuck My Face #26. I think that's how I've been able to change things.

What can we expect from you in the future?

I want to run for president.

For what party?

The Joanna Angel Party.

What are the planks on your platform?

Well I want everyone to get AIM tests every 26 days. That way when you go to the bar and you fuck someone you don't know, you don't have to get really scared the next time you go to the AIDs clinic.

I have a few other things in mind, but I've been too busy making porn to work on them.
